Finding My Path

Updated: Oct 22, 2022

I've been a spiritual person since I was very young, possibly by the time I was 6yrs old. My mother was into black magic, she had books that she hid from me that I soon found and ventured through. I know what you're thinking, I went down the dark path, but honestly it just opened up new doors to all types of magic and found that learning different cultural beliefs and religions was super interesting to me. When I was in middle school I had a friend who's mom was into astral projection, reading the stars, zodiac signs, and had books i'd never seen before outside of the typical 'magick' genres.

I have changed and questioned my beliefs many time, I've wondered if the path I've chosen is right, I've collected practices that work for me from different sources I've found from books and online blogs and I know that i'm still learning every day. I've always been interested in Paganism, Wicca, Druids, Fay, and Voodoo, but always wanted to know what my Ancestors practiced, their rituals. It was something that inspired me to learn more.

Before i started on my journey toward my heritage and their beliefs I jumped into Tarot, Medicine Cards, Crystal Ball Gazing, Candle Magic, Sex Magic, Herbal Medicine, and Crystal Healing.

Well what's in my blood? I'm a proud mixed mut with some cinnamon sugar and spices mixed in the bowl. I'm Irish, Filipino, Austronesian, Mexican, Spanish, Indigenous American, Portuguese, Ashkenazi Jewish, German, West African, and a few more things but you get the picture. My family is pretty all over the place. I've always been attached to my Irish & Native American side, but just recently started learning more about my Filipino Heritage and ancestors and WOW! I am so intrigued and amazed at the things that they practice. A lot of their practices call to me like I 'm familiar with them already. It's a strange feeling that pumps me up with excitement and I am interest in learning more about Mankukulam and their practices of Kulam, Albularyo the Herbal Doctors or 'Faith Healer' also known as a mananambal or sorhuana (female) / sorhuano (male).

I will update my blog with my findings and if you're of Filipino background and have any good reads, please send them my way!

So after all my jibjab... my path has led me to healing magic & body work. I'm a Massage Therapist in school currently while self learning herbal medicine. I am happy to finally be on the right path, and one that has so much to offer.

Update: I've graduated school and have gotten through my advanced class to become a Neuromuscular Therapist, working in a chiropractic office with patients with injuries. I love my job.
